Liam Mallon is President of ExxonMobil Upstream Oil & Gas. In this role, he has responsibility for ExxonMobil’s diverse upstream portfolio of oil and gas businesses around the world. As such, all global upstream deepwater, conventional, unconventional, heavy oil and LNG operations are in his area of responsibility. To that end, Mr. Mallon and his organization are responsible for the approximate 3.9 koebd of production ExxonMobil brings to market. Previously he held positions as President of ExxonMobil Development Company, Vice President for Africa of ExxonMobil Production Company, and President of ExxonMobil Canada, among others. He first joined Mobil in 1990. A native of Ireland, Mr. Mallon holds a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from Trinity College in Dublin, and a master’s degree in Petroleum Engineering from Herriot Watt University in Edinburgh, Scotland. He is the Chairman of the Board of Directors of Spindletop Charities, Inc., a non-profit serving the greater Houston community that supports at-risk youth and their families through a range of education and health programs. He is also a member of the Society of Petroleum Engineers and previously served on the organization’s Board in Asia Pacific.
