Karl Spencer-Armond is the Head of New Energy Business and Decarbonized Solutions for Generation in the Americas at Siemens Energy. His role focuses on the decarbonization of the energy industry around the development of solutions for Power to X, hydrogen production and application, and utilization of heat and hybrid solutions. Having joined Siemens in 1998, Karl has held a series of positions from field construction and commissioning, through Engineering Management, Project Management, Business Development and Sales, in regions including Europe, Asia, Latin America and North America. Karl holds a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from The Queen’s University of Belfast, Northern Ireland.

Such a clean hydrogen economy enables Sector Coupling, the means by which hard-to-abate industries can achieve decarbonization, and global sources of lower cost renewable energy, produced in concentrated geographies, can be utilized in other locations through the conversion to e-fuels or clean feedstocks.
