Mr. Klingel leads Black & Veatch’s Global Distributed Energy business, consisting of Advisory-through-EPC solutions for Power Distribution, Distributed Generation, and Asset Management. He has led the design and implementation of customer-facing, distributed energy resource, and critical infrastructure programs that leverage the regulatory constructs and best practices driving the investment decisions of today’s utilities. Throughout his career, Mr. Klingel has led over two dozen smart grid development projects, driving the operational roadmap behind advanced distribution management and end-user experience. Skilled in crafting and integrating energy management and demand-side management technology solutions, Mr. Klingel previously held positions in Black & Veatch’s Management Consulting business and led the Distribution Modernization & Customer Experience Offering for Black & Veatch. He also founded a practice serving utilities with specific focus on enabling optimized operations in a competitive retail environment via behind-the-meter product development, dynamic rate design, and progressive customer engagement models. Prior to B&V, Jeremy led energy practices at Comverge (now Itron) and Perficient. Mr. Klingel has more than 23 years of industry leadership experience with four years in executive leadership roles with Black & Veatch. He earned a Bachelor of Arts, Anthropology, Economics and History from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte.
