The World Energy Cities Partnership (WECP) cities are home to many green hydrogen companies that are leading initiatives to build a lower-carbon energy future, developing the full range of energy sources to power the world today and into tomorrow. As hydrogen hubs, WECP cities and mayors are leading voices on sustainable economic development, climate action and building more resilient cities. This applies not least to the WECP North Sea region cities of Aberdeen, Esbjerg and Stavanger that are at the forefront when it comes to driving the energy transition with green hydrogen.
As the world moves further toward energy transition, change is occurring at the city level, led by cities embracing innovation and technology. What are some of the key challenges facing global "energy cities" as they progress toward a lower carbon future? How can other cities follow their lead to develop and incorporate strategies and polices that support a more sustainable energy future?
