Francisco Ortigosa, Director of Technological Innovation, Repsol, has dedicated his career to the petroleum industry, holding several international technology positions at Repsol. Mr. Ortigosa focuses on quantifying the economic value added to the E&P business by emerging technologies in the fields of geosciences and digital transformation. As Repsol’s Director of Technological Innovation, he is expanding his areas of influence to upstream, downstream, energy transition, and digital transformation. He is a Member of technology Boards, where he is an advisor in technology strategy and new technologies. Mr. Ortigosa received an award from IEEE Spectrum (2008) for the Kaleidoscope Project recognizing one of 2007’s most innovative projects and an award from Platt’s for the most Commercial Technology of the year (2009). In 2018 he received Repsol´s INN Award for innovative projects. Recently he received Repsol´s Digital Legend Award for his successful 15-year trajectory in digital transformation and big data. He has authored and co-authored numerous technical papers presented at international conferences and publications. He is also a frequent keynote speaker for conferences and a regular participant in panels regarding digital transformation in the oil E&P business. He is affiliated with the Society of Exploration Geophysicists (SEG), the European Association of Geoscientists and Engineers (EAGE) and the Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE).
