Emanuel Simon is a Director of the Latin America Power and Renewables team at S&P Global Commodity Insights. He has more than 15 years of experience in energy markets in Latin America, with roles spanning from lead project engineer to market advisor in the power sector. Prior to joining S&P Global, Simon was with Siemens, where he worked with engineering design for the oil and gas industry, energy efficiency, and the power sector. He also held a position as a business development engineer, responsible for pursuing new business initiatives across the company’s portfolio of products and services. Simon holds a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from Federal University of Santa Catarina, has completed postgraduate studies in engineering at Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (UFRJ), and holds a Master of Science from UFRJ.
