Dr. Richard Boardman

Directorate Fellow, Technology Energy and Environmental Science & Technology Directorate

Richard Boardman is a Directorate Fellow for the Idaho National Lab Technology Energy and Environmental Science & Technology Directorate. He has led the development of nuclear energy integration with process industries for the past 25 years. He currently leads the Light Water Reactor Sustainability Program pathway for Flexible Plant Operation & Generation. He is also the Idaho National Laboratory Relationship Manager with the DOE Hydrogen and Fuel Cell Technology Office. He graduated with a doctorate degree in Chemical Engineering from Brigham Young University, with an emphasis in energy and environmental applications. He was employed by Exxon Production Research and Geneva Steel before joining the Idaho National Laboratory in 1990. Dr. Boardman has led several DOE cooperative research and development projects with nuclear reactor developers, nuclear power utilities, and large industries pursuing hydrogen production and use.
