Douglas Alfaro is the General Manager of North America at Wallbox, a global technology company dedicated to changing the way the world uses energy. He has spent the last three years building Wallbox’s business, team, and manufacturing capabilities in North America. Previously, Douglas spent seven years at Tesla, leading its Supercharging team across the Western U.S., Canada, and Southern Europe, creating some of the first cross-country corridors for fast charging infrastructure. Douglas is an industry veteran with over 14 years of experience working in technology, energy and sustainability.

    Despite the prolific year-on-year growth of battery electric vehicles (BEVs) in many major markets, charging infrastructure is still perceived as one of the major obstacles preventing more widespread consumer adoption. Over the coming years, considerable investments from various automotive and non-automotive stakeholders are expected, and IHS Markit’s Supply Chain & Technology charging team foresees a cumulative annual increase of more than 40% in charging station deployment during the next decade. What challenges must be addressed in deployment of BEV charging station infrastructure? Which factors will determine the extent of installation growth?
