Senior VP, Upstream Unconventional

David Scott became Vice President of ExxonMobil’s Permian Business Unit in April 2020, leading the company’s oil and natural gas operations in the Permian Basin, which span more than 1.8 million net acres across New Mexico and Texas, and an aggressive plan to reach net zero Scope 1 and 2 greenhouse gas emissions from those operations by 2030. David has held various engineering, planning, operations and management roles around the world, including Malaysia; the UK; Houston, Texas; and Angola. In 2016, he was appointed president of ExxonMobil’s affiliate in the United Arab Emirates. Originally from Australia, he holds degrees in Chemical Engineering and Business Administration from RMIT University.
