Darryl leads a team responsible for S&P Global Commodity Insights business keen on midstream data and global natural gas liquids (“NGL”) providing data, data analyses and forecasts, and insights to our clients through subscription products and consulting/advisory services.

Darryl is responsible and accountable for S&P Global Commodity Insights midstream essentials data and NGL markets portfolio of insights subscription products/services. The NGL markets portfolio of products/services includes NGL Markets and US NGL Markets Weekly. Darryl along with leading this subscription business serves as a focal point for consulting projects, integrating the unmatched S&P Global Commodity Insights technical and markets experience, insights, and data from our upstream, natural gas, NGL, downstream, and chemicals teams to provide client-focused solutions.

Prior to the acquisition of IHS Markit by S&P Global in February 2022 and IHS-Markit merger of equals in July 2016 Darryl was responsible for the NGL capabilities and portfolio of products and services for IHS. Darryl joined IHS North American natural gas team and IHS Power, Gas, Coal, and Renewables (“PGCR”) group in early 2012 following the acquisition of Purvin & Gertz by IHS. 

Darryl joined Purvin & Gertz in 2008 after 17 years of experience with The Dow Chemical Company (“Dow”), with the last 10 years managing power, steam, natural gas, natural gas liquids (“NGL”), and LNG assets and supply requirements supporting Dow’s chemical and petrochemical operations in Midland, Michigan and Freeport, Texas. Darryl’s business and commercial management responsibilities for Dow’s Midland and Freeport integrated operations included natural gas purchases and sales; pipeline and storage asset management and optimization; LNG regasification terminal business planning, operations, and LNG procurement; power and steam cogeneration commercial and operations management; petroleum coke business development; and hydrogen and other industrial gases sales and purchases.  Darryl’s prior Dow experience included operations and project development/execution in Dow’s ethylene and propylene manufacturing facilities located in Plaquemine, Louisiana. 

Summarizing, Darryl’s careers spans more than 30 years with 17 years in the operating and manufacturing world with Dow and 15 years in the advisory services, insights, and consulting world with S&P Global and predecessor firms and companies.
