Daniel Evans, Vice President, leads Global Refining and Marketing research at IHS Markit. His team is responsible for IHS Markit’s short-term refined product supply, demand price and margin forecasts as well as our deep downstream market coverage. Daniel has been involved in much of IHS Markit’s work on the future of energy and mobility, leading the 2018 study Reinventing the Truck and the 2019 study Reinventing the Aircraft and the Ship. He has experience in strategy, commercial investment decision analysis, asset valuation, transaction advisory, feasibility and market studies, and financial benchmarking. Prior to joining IHS Markit, Mr. Evans worked for Statoil in corporate strategy, where he was responsible for analyzing global business opportunities and framing the strategic investment context for senior management. Mr. Evans holds a master’s degree in civil engineering and construction management from Leeds University, and studied jointly at the University of California, Berkeley.
