Prior to joining S&P Global, Claudio has worked, in the last ten years, on some of the largest European electric vehicle projects in Switzerland, Germany and Italy. His expertise also includes a work experience in an international electric vehicle start-up.

    Despite the prolific year-on-year growth of battery electric vehicles (BEVs) in many major markets, charging infrastructure is still perceived as one of the major obstacles preventing more widespread consumer adoption. Over the coming years, considerable investments from various automotive and non-automotive stakeholders are expected, and IHS Markit’s Supply Chain & Technology charging team foresees a cumulative annual increase of more than 40% in charging station deployment during the next decade. What challenges must be addressed in deployment of BEV charging station infrastructure? Which factors will determine the extent of installation growth? How might governments’ financial pledges support these ambitious goals?
