Global Head, ESG Strategy and M&A
Chris drives the strategy for S&P Global’s enterprise-wide efforts to accelerate ESG, sustainability, energy transition, and the development of the broader carbon ecosystem. He is responsible for controlling the M&A process for ESG-related opportunities, comprising categorizing shortlisted targets and potential venture investments along with addressing today and in-future key gaps, steering venture investments in start-ups aimed at expanding S&P Global's exposure to sustainability ecosystem, and providing strategic advice regarding the ESG data and analytics market. He works across the various divisions and with clients and potential market participants to drive change while also helping solve to customer pain points and enable the growth of sustainability. He was previously a Director of Index Investment Strategy at S&P Dow Jones Indices (S&P DJI) providing research and commentary on the entire S&P DJI product set, including U.S. and global equities, commodities, fixed income, and ESG indices. He worked directly with consumers of index products including asset managers and exchanges, and was also previously part of S&P DJI from 2014- 2016 as a Senior Analyst of Index Investment Strategy. In his time within the Indices division, he saw the launch of many new indices and was responsible for providing the information and materials to drive market players to adopt and invest in these new investment vehicles. Prior to returning to S&P DJI, Chris was a Manager in Corporate Strategy at S&P Global, where he developed and supported enterprise-wide strategic initiatives driven by external market forces and internal opportunities for operational improvements, including ESG and commodity markets. Before joining S&P Global, Chris was part of the Finance Leadership Development Program at Prudential Financial. Chris attended Seton Hall University, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in finance and information technology management, graduating magna cum laude. Chris is a CFA charter holder
