Offshore wind, which started in Europe 30 years ago, is coming to the rest of the world’s power markets. The technology has improved immensely, costs are coming down, and the global pipeline of projects now exceeds 300 GW, compared to nearly 35 GW currently installed. But as aspirations grow, so do questions about delivery. Can the industry double installations in the next five years, and do in five years what previously took 30? Is there a limit to offshore wind’s growth?
