President & Group Chief Executive Officer

Mr. Wan Zulkiflee Wan Ariffin is President and Group Chief Executive Officer of PETRONAS. He joined PETRONAS in 1983 as a process engineer, and in the ensuing years, he held various positions including Managing Director and CEO of the publicly listed subsidiary, PETRONAS Gas Berhad, and Vice President of Gas. In 2012 he was Chief Operating Officer of PETRONAS while serving as Executive Vice President and CEO of Downstream and Chairman of PETRONAS Chemicals Group Berhad and PETRONAS Dagangan Berhad. Mr. Wan Zulkiflee is Chairman of the National Trust Fund, Council Member of the East Coast Economic Region Development Council (ECERDC), Chairman of ECERDC’s Audit Committee, Member of the Northern Corridor Implementation Authority (NCIA), and Chairman of NCIA Audit Committee. He is a member of the Board of Trustees of the Razak School of Government and Merdeka Award Trust and an Advisory Council member of the National Institute of Public Administration. Mr. Wan Zulkiflee is also a member of the World Economic Forum (WEF) Stewardship Board on Shaping the Future of Energy, WEF O&G Governors, and Malaysia’s alternate member on the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation and Business Advisory Council. Mr. Wan Zulkiflee holds a Bachelor of Engineering degree in chemical engineering from the University of Adelaide and attended the Advanced Management Program at Harvard Business School.
