Susan Farrell

Vice President, Energy-Wide Perspectives

Susan Farrell is a Vice President in the IHS Markit Energy-Wide Perspectives team, with particular expertise in strategy and planning. She started the executive briefing service Strategic Horizons, which provides summaries of key analysis covering oil markets, economics, geopolitics, upstream, global gas, downstream, and renewables. Ms. Farrell co-heads the IHS Markit Long-Term Scenarios, which outlines different trajectories for demand and supply of oil, gas, coal, renewables, nuclear, and other energy sources, and the Climate and Carbon service, which assesses the impacts of climate policies and competitive changes. She presents the IHS Markit outlook for industry drivers, markets, and company strategies to executive teams and Boards of Directors. Ms. Farrell joined IHS Markit in 2013 when the firm acquired PFC Energy. Bringing over 20 years of industry experience in the assessment and implementation of strategic planning for international markets, she founded PFC Energy’s Houston office in 2000. Prior to joining PFC Energy, Ms. Farrell led the global strategy groups of two major oilfield service companies, Brown and Root (now KBR) and McDermott International. She lived and worked in Europe for over 10 years and traveled extensively in Asia Pacific and the Middle East. Ms. Farrell holds a BA from Brown University and an MBA from Boston University.
