Sergey Vakulenko, Head of Strategy and Innovations, Gazprom Neft, leads strategy, long-term planning, and competitive intelligence as well as the scenario and forecasting team; sits on the company investment committee; and oversees innovations for the company. Before joining Gazprom Neft in 2011, Mr. Vakulenko founded and developed IHS CERA’s consulting practice in Russia, advising Russian and international oil and gas companies and Russian government on strategy and energy policy. IHS CERA was later acquired by IHS Markit. Previously Mr. Vakulenko spent 10 years in Royal Dutch Shell in a number of economics, planning and commercial roles on assignments in the Netherlands, United Kingdom, Russia, Japan, Brazil, and Kazakhstan. He holds degrees from the Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy and the Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology.
