Bill Morelli is Senior Director, IT and Networks, at IHS Technology, where he manages the core strategy, personnel, research, analysis, and commercial planning for the division. Currently, his primary focus is Connectivity and the Internet of Things (IoT); the division he oversees also includes Data Centers, Compute Electronics, Smart Cities, Cloud Computing, Enterprise IT, Enterprise and Service Provider Networking, and IT Security. In his previous role at IHS Markit, Mr. Morelli was responsible for launching the Internet of Things research areas, as well as leading the mobile technologies group. He has published numerous reports on the global market for Internet of Things, connected devices, mobile handsets, smartphones/converged devices, I/O technologies (including touchscreens), and handset operating systems. His research has been featured in various articles in major newspapers and magazines, such as The Washington Post, Bloomberg/BusinessWeek, and The New York Times. Mr. Morelli has authored numerous syndicated reports, provided strategic market analysis for end equipment manufacturers and component suppliers, and speaks regularly at industry events.
