Significant progress is being made in reducing the cost of hydrogen. But it still is not economically competitive, in both money and energy terms, to produce, store, and convert hydrogen back to useful energy. Many innovative approaches are being tested; most are not at scale. What are the most promising technologies and what are the roadblocks to scale hydrogen production?
New technologies in producing hydrogen have brought hydrogen as an energy carrier back into focus. Hydrogen can play a role in the energy transition. A key question is whether hydrogen provides an alternative to an all-electric future. This session will explore this question among other topics on the role and future of hydrogen.
