Chief Executive Officer

George Dethlefsen was appointed Chief Executive Officer of Corsa Coal Corp., in August 2014 and has been a member of the Board of Directors since July 2013. This year Corsa Coal Corp. will sell over 2 million tons of metallurgical coal to steel and coke producers in the domestic and international markets. Corsa Coal has three active underground mines and two active surface mines and loads coal on both the Norfolk Southern and CSX railroads. Corsa employs over 400 employees, has operating locations in Pennsylvania and Maryland, and is traded on the TSX-V exchange under the symbol CSO.V. Previously, Mr. Dethlefsen was Managing Director at Quintana Energy Partners, a Houston-based private equity fund, where he was the sector head of coal and downstream investments. In his time at Quintana, he served on the board of 8 companies, played a leadership role in the execution of 17 acquisitions, the formation of 4 companies, the sale of 6 companies, and evaluated over 100 investments in the global mining space. Prior to joining Quintana, Mr. Dethlefsen performed corporate finance and mergers and acquisition activity for the General Partner of Natural Resource Partners, L.P. He began his career in the Mergers and Acquisitions Department of Goldman, Sachs, & Co., in New York. He attended Rice University, where he earned a BA in economics and managerial studies, and The University of Texas at Austin, where he earned an MBA.
