Chief Economist

Edmund Rawle leads ADNOC's Economics department, responsible for advising the Group CEO on the threats and opportunities posed by the external environment, and developing ADNOC’s long-term energy outlook and price forecasts. 

Edmund has spent his career working as a professional economist across energy, metals and financial markets. He specialises in developing analytical capability – building out teams and quantitative systems to help senior management and clients better understand the risks facing their businesses.

Before joining ADNOC, Edmund was Chief Economist and Global Head of Oil Research at Wood Mackenzie, located in Houston. Prior to that he headed CRU's Econometrics team in London, responsible for developing price forecasting models for base metals and steel.

Before moving into commodities, Edmund held Senior Economist positions at HM Treasury, where he briefed former Prime Ministers Tony Blair and Gordon Brown. He also served as an Economist at the European Central Bank in Frankfurt, and the Home Office in London.

Edmund holds a Masters degree in Economics from Southampton University, and a Bachelors in Economics from The University of Birmingham. He is also an Alumnus of the London School of Economics.
