Vice President & Chief Technology Officer

Sanjay Paranji was named Vice President and Chief Technology Officer of Anadarko's Advanced Analytics & Emerging Technologies (AAET) in 2018 after serving as Vice President since November 2016. The AAET organization's objective is to enable digital transformation in Anadarko by harnessing technology, big data, artificial intelligence, machine learning, and automation to enhance the company's competitive advantage in the exploration and production space. Mr. Paranji has 21 years of experience in the oil and natural gas industry, beginning with Schlumberger covering the Middle East, East Africa, and subsequently the UK and Norwegian North Sea sectors. Since joining the company in 2001, he has held positions of increasing responsibility with cross-disciplinary and geographic breadth within Anadarko's onshore, deepwater, and international operations. His leadership positions include Director, Unconventional Resources Best Practices for US Onshore; General Manager, Enhanced Oil Recovery; Joint Venture and Commercial Manager for Algeria operations; Reserves and Planning Manager for International Operations; and Reservoir Engineering Manager for Bohai Bay operations in Beijing, China. Mr. Paranji holds a bachelor's degree in petroleum engineering, a Master of Science degree in petroleum engineering from the University of Tulsa, and an MBA from The Jones School of Business at Rice University.
