Tim Armstrong is Vice President of Planning Solutions at IHS Markit Automotive. He is responsible for the group’s syndicated automotive research and analysis worldwide. The team comprises 200 automotive analysts located in 25 offices, who provide solutions to the planning functions within OEMs, suppliers, and other automotive stakeholders. Mr. Armstrong has 25 years of experience analyzing the automotive industry. Recent research topics in the group include the impact of new mobility on the automotive, energy and chemical sectors, emissions compliance and modelling, and the integration of connected technologies into the automotive industry. In addition to heading automotive research, he has been active in growing IHS Markit Automotive via the acquisition and integration of CSM Worldwide, IMS Research, Supplier Business, BDW Automotive, and R.L. Polk. Mr. Armstrong holds a Master of Economics degree from the University of Western Australia and bachelor’s degrees in economics and finance. He is based in Paris, France, and speaks English and French.
