Founder, Izuba Energy; Co-Founder and former Managing Director

Chaim Motzen, founder of Izuba Energy, develops and deploys first of a kind projects in Africa that demonstrate the feasibility of innovative approaches to sustainable energy. In addition to developing first in country utility-scale solar projects, he is exploring storage hybrid solutions and distributed renewable energy systems. In his previous role, as Co-Founder and Managing Director of Gigawatt Global, Chaim led the development of the first utility-scale solar field in continental Africa (ex-South Africa). Financed and built within one year of the signing of a Power Purchase Agreement (PPA), the project increased Rwanda’s generation capacity by 6%. Chaim is a former consultant at McKinsey and Company. He is on the Board of Directors of the Gift of Life Marrow Registry. He received an MBA from Harvard Business School and an MPA from Harvard Kennedy School.
