Dr. Sarah Cooper is Amazon Web Service’s General Manager of Outcome Driven Engineering. Dr. Cooper’s been building IoT solutions and platforms for the past 15 years. She serves as Vice Chairwoman of the Internet of Things Community, a 20,000 member IoT practitioner community. Formerly M2Mi’s Chief Operations Officer, Dr. Cooper was named an IS 50 Most Empowering Women in Business and recognized as a Top 100 Wireless Technology Expert by Wireless World, Top 20 IoT Influencer by Inc., and a National Academy of Engineers Frontiers of Engineering Awardee. She founded and sold TE-Bio, a thermoelectric device company, and NaturalNano, a nanomaterials company with global halloysite mining operations. Dr. Cooper holds a PhD in physics from the University of Sydney, conducted fundamental research at NASA and the Department of Energy, and holds patents in advanced materials and devices.

For the past 20 years, telematics services have used this data, but with data monetization business models still evolving, new, innovative applications are likely to emerge. What are auto data opportunities? Which industries hold the most potential? How is the energy sector impacted? What are potential barriers and regulation issues, including the impact of privacy laws? What are the business models? Should the car owner be compensated?
