Consulting Executive Director

Andrew is currently an Executive Director, in the Upstream/Energy Consulting division of S&P Global Commodity Insights and oversees upstream field and LNG development, decarbonization and CCUS projects with specialization in planning, design, cost estimation, risks and economics. Andrew has been with S&P Global for over 30 years and has a wealth of experience across the upstream oil and gas value chain including the more recent focus on decarbonization and CCUS. Recently returned to the UK, the previous 12 years were spent in Dubai building the IHS Markit upstream consulting capability in the Middle East region. Andrew has led consulting teams undertaking oil and gas field, pipeline and LNG design, engineering, CAPEX and OPEX cost estimation and valuation consulting solutions to the industry. With the ability to understand demand requirements for any component within the upstream value chain, projects often include market demand outlooks, complimented by supply side market intelligence. Working closely with research and product teams, he has also been directly involved in the development and consultation of IHS Markit's cost research and tools, including UCCI, UOCI, Vantage, QUE$TOR® and OPE$T and providing technical advice to research projects. Prior to joining IHS Markit, Andrew was a process engineer for Humphreys & Glasgow/H&G Engineering, working on the design and commissioning of a wide range of projects including subsea separation, the Miller oil field, Ammonia, potable water treatment, clean power generation and oil refining. Andrew has a degree in Chemical Engineering from Aston Univeristy and is a Chartered Engineer and Member of The Institute of Chemical Engineers.
