Senior Associate

Philip Vorobyov is a Senior Associate with the Brussels Energy Club and an independent analyst specializing in Upstream and Gas Markets of Eastern Europe and the Former Soviet Union. In his prior role he headed up strategy and communications at JKX Oil & Gas, a London-listed independent with a focus on Ukraine and Russia. Before joining JKX, Philip worked for TNK-BP Gas & Power division in Moscow where he performed a number of senior roles including head of strategy, business development and regulatory affairs. He was also Associate Director for Russian and Caspian Energy at Cambridge Energy Research Associates (CERA). Philip holds an MA from Harvard University and a BS from Georgetown University.

    Russia and other key Eurasian oil producers have renewed their agreement to remain part of the Vienna Alliance, to cut their production to help rebalance to the global oil market as it has swung from oversupply to undersupply, and back to oversupply. This session covers the goals the participants hope to achieve and mechanisms for implementing the cuts. It also will look at the duration and staying power of the arrangement.
