Nick Thomson, an IHS Markit Director, heads up International Oil and Gas Supply in the Upstream Research organization with a focus on providing supply-related forecasts across the company. Mr. Thomson has over 20 years’ experience in the E&P business and has led numerous tailored consulting assignments for clients including major producers, smaller independents, and national agencies, working on many of the world’s most important hydrocarbon provinces. Most recently he led the development of international supply content for the flagship Vantage product. He has particular expertise in developing software tools that have allowed clients to integrate data, geography, and forecasting methodologies to acquire deep insight into market fundamentals. Prior to joining IHS Markit, Mr. Thomson worked for Shell International, where he held a range of technical, operational, and commercial roles in Europe, Africa, South East Asia, and the Middle East. He holds a First Class Honours Degree in Civil Engineering from Imperial College, London.
