Chief Development Officer, JERA Energy Development Asia

Kian Min Low, Chief Development Officer, JERA, is responsible for business development for energy projects in Asia. Mr. Low brings with him two decades of experience in the power industry. Prior to joining JERA, he was Head of Business Development for ASEAN, Sembcorp Industries. At Sembcorp, he led the company’s expansion into Myanmar with the Myingyan IPP—the first internationally tendered and project-financed power transaction in that country. Previously, Mr. Low was the Chief Executive Officer of PT Paiton Energy, Indonesia’s largest IPP. At Paiton, he led the development, construction, and operation of the 815 MW, coal-fired Paiton III project. Earlier in his career, he served as Deputy Regional Director (Asia), Head of Business Development (Australia), and General Counsel (Australia) for International Power plc (now part of Engie Energy International). Mr. Low holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree and a Bachelor of Laws degree (with first class honors) from the Australian National University.
