Unit Head for Industrial Mitigation

Don D’Souza, P.Eng., is the Unit Head for Industrial Mitigation at British Columbia’s Climate Action Secretariat. His team is focuses on industrial greenhouse gas policy in the province, including the reporting of greenhouse gas emissions data, developing new policy, legislation and regulations, and implementing programs to reduce these emissions from the industrial sector. His team manages the BC Carbon Registry for the province, which enables the issuance, transfer and retirement of carbon offset units for compliance and voluntary purposes. Don has an undergraduate degree in Chemical Engineering and a masters degree in Environmental Management. He has previously worked in engineering consulting, international development, and at environmental non-profits, all in roles focused on air and greenhouse gas management. He is a licenced professional engineer in the provinces of Alberta and British Columbia.
