Chief Executive Officer

Maxim Timchenko is Chief Executive Officer of DTEK, a strategic holding company that develops business in the energy sector that he has headed since its inception in 2005. Under the leadership of Mr. Timchenko, DTEK has transformed from a regional company in Eastern Ukraine into Ukraine’s leading energy group with а nationwide scale of business and world-class corporate governance standards. He has been repeatedly recognized as one of the best top managers in Ukraine, and in 2014, he ranked first in the Top 100: Ukraine’s Best Top Managers rating published by Ekonomika Communication Hub. During the prior three years, Mr. Timchenko worked as a senior manager at System Capital Management (SCM), where he was responsible for their energy business until it was spun off into DTEK. He began his career in 1998 as a consultant at PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC). He graduated with honors from the Donetsk State Academy of Management with a degree in production management, going on to receive a bachelor’s degree in economics and social sciences with honors from Manchester University.
