Michael F. Ableson, Chief Executive Officer, North America, Arrival Automotive, has been with the company since October 2019. Arrival develops autonomous-ready, purpose-built electric vehicles (EVs) for the commercial market and is committed to eliminating the premium for clean technologies. With more than 30 years of automotive industry experience, Mr. Ableson specializes in adapting innovative technologies for use in production-ready products. He began his career as a Structural Analyst for General Motors and later served as a Vehicle Chief Engineer in both Europe and North America, as well as Executive Director of Global Advanced Vehicle Development and Vice President of Engineering in Europe. As Vice President of Global Strategy, he worked to move the company from traditional original equipment manufacturer (OEM) to a manufacturer of electric and autonomous vehicles. Mr. Ableson is a Member of the Executive Committee of the Transportation Research Board, a past Member of the Engineering Advisory Board at the University of California, Berkeley, and serves as a Guest Lecturer at the Stanford Graduate School of Business. Mr. Ableson holds a BS from the University of Michigan and an MS from the University of California, Berkeley.
