Robert Blair Thomas is Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of EIG. EIG is among the largest specialist investors in energy with $23 billion currently under management and operates on a global basis, having made investments in 36 countries on six continents. Founded in 1982, EIG has invested more than $25 billion in 320 projects and companies, all dedicated to energy and energy-related infrastructure. EIG was formerly part of Trust Company of the West, where Mr. Thomas was a Group Managing Director and a member of the Board of TCW Asset Management Company. Prior to joining EIG, Mr. Thomas was a Senior Investment Officer with the Inter-American Development Bank and a Project Finance Attorney at the law firm of Brown & Wood. Mr. Thomas also served as an advisor on energy and budget policy in the first Bush White House. Mr. Thomas has served on numerous corporate boards (both public and private) involving companies in the United States, Australia, Brazil, Dominican Republic, Norway, and the United Kingdom, as well as the Jefferson Scholars Foundation at the University of Virginia. Mr. Thomas holds a BA from the University of Virginia, a JD from New York Law School, and an LLM from Georgetown University Law Center.
