During the 2020s, six-times more solar, two-times more wind and 37-times more batteries will be required than in the previous decade. Each of these technologies are critical to the decarbonization of the global economy and will rely upon a major scale up of their associated supply chains, from raw materials and manufacturing capacities, to logistics, labor and specialist-skilled engineers. Where will the major bottlenecks and shortages be seen? How can the necessary investments in manufacturing capacity be unlocked?
