Mark Phan is the commercial manager for ExxonMobil’s Permian business unit. In his current role, Mark oversees the formulation and execution of commercial strategies to competitively optimize, develop and operate Permian assets. Mark’s work in this space lies at the intersection between operations, development, and technology, which includes some of the Basin’s foremost challenges, from emission reduction and water management to co-development. He is focused on finding solutions and partnerships that can translate these challenges into opportunities that enhance both the value of ExxonMobil’s assets in the Basin and the company’s commitment to becoming one of the most responsible operators there.
Mark’s career with ExxonMobil spans more than 20 years across a breadth of geography and commercial expertise, covering LNG, natural gas and NGL marketing, and new business development in the Americas, Asia Pacific and Europe. An engineer by training and commercial expert by trade, Mark holds an MBA from the University of Texas in Austin and a bachelor’s in chemical engineering from Louisiana State University.
