Global Operations Executive, Hydrogen

John Gunn is Global Manager of Operations for Bechtel’s Energy Transition business, based in Houston.  He leads the hydrogen and advanced fuels business, delivering customers’ projects from feasibility / concept through engineering. John has 25 years of international energy & petrochemical experience in engineering, commercial, operations, project, and global executive leadership roles. Prior to Bechtel, he spent >20 years with a global integrated energy company, with experience in natural gas, LNG, power, petrochemicals, renewables, energy storage, carbon capture and storage, hydrogen, ammonia, and energy efficiency. John serves on the Coordinating Steering Committee of the multiorganizational US NPC Hydrogen Study for the US Secretary of Energy, and previously for the US NPC Carbon Capture, Utilization and Storage Study, where he also acted as the Chair of the Enabling Factors Task Group. John holds a Master of Chemical Engineering degree from Imperial College, UK, and he is a chartered engineer and member of the UK Institution of Chemical Engineers.
