Dr. Hermann Lebit is an entrepreneurial and innovative geoscientist with a passion for progress in science and technology developments. He has been a successful explorationist in the hydrocarbon industry as a certified petroleum geologist and facilitated several play and country entries by integrating geological concepts, geophysical data and above ground risk elements to capture the economic potential of targeted basins. He was instrumental in securing more than 1 billion barrels of proven oil resources in on- and offshore basins. Since 2009, Dr. Lebit has worked on the geothermal potential as part of exploration efforts, which became his major mission by 2021 (Alma Energy). For 15 years he has served the international Geoscience community as General Secretary of the IUGS commission on Tectonics and Structural Geology, as well as scientific editor, author of numerous publications, and as frequent speaker and various venues.
