Andy heads Xpansiv's market development and policy team, which provides data, insights and recommendations for new approaches to developing environmental markets globally.  In this capacity, Andy engages with market participants, regulators, and market infrastructure providers to further the development of important mechanisms such as transparent exchanges and price benchmarks that bring greater utility and integrity to the operation of these markets.  Andy previously built Xpansiv's data and analytics business, which provides intra-day and historical data from Xpansiv's CBL exchange as well its other key business lines. Previously, Andy held senior roles at S&P Global in its commodities, ratings, and market information businesses, focused primarily on product development of innovative market data products and services.

    Taking Carbon Trading to the Next Stage: What is needed to move the market forward?

    More than a year on from the formal adoption of Article 6 at Glasgow, little progress has been made in the establishment of a unified trading system for carbon credits. Meanwhile, even as interest in the voluntary carbon markets has continued to grow—particularly within the private sector—the global energy crisis has drawn industry attention elsewhere, while both investment and prices have stumbled. Are these just the growing pains of a fledgling market? What more is needed for the carbon markets to deliver carbon finance where it is needed in the drive toward net zero? How can these markets scale to enable projects to deliver on environmental and social objectives beyond carbon savings?
