Hydrogen can help heavy-duty truck fleets transition to zero-emission operations, but current hydrogen storage methods force a trade-off: long range and high payload (with liquid hydrogen storage) or low fuel cost and widespread fuel supply (with gaseous hydrogen storage). Storing hydrogen as a cold and compressed gas (“cryo-compressed”) eliminates this trade-off, delivering high performance to trucks while keeping hydrogen fuel costs low.
